Wizard Chan speaks through music with 'OLIVER'

Nigerian Afro-Teme and reggae sensation Wizard Chan, born Fuayefika Maxwell, has made a striking return to the music scene with his latest single OLIVER. The track, produced by Pumba Mix, serves as a bold follow-up to his earlier 2025 release FLAKO featuring ODUMODUBLVCK and marks his second single of the year, offering a glimpse into his forthcoming album. Hailing from Port Harcourt, Rivers State, Wizard Chan has built a reputation for his genre-blending sound since his 2020 debut Halo Halo, with Earth Song in 2022 cementing his rise to prominence and earning him accolades at The Headies and Galaxy Music Awards in 2023.

OLIVER is a gritty street anthem that fuses raw Afro-street energy with unfiltered lyrical storytelling, showcasing Wizard Chan’s commanding delivery and bold persona. The title, a slang nod to “Oliver Twist,” symbolizes an unrelenting drive for success and street authenticity, resonating with those who thrive through struggle and demand respect. The track’s high-octane beat, crafted by Pumba Mix, pulses with infectious rhythms and bold production, making it a captivating listen that reflects Wizard Chan’s roots and ambition.

The release has generated significant excitement, with Wizard Chan teasing the track earlier this week and fans eagerly streaming it across platforms as of this morning. Building on the success of FLAKO, which highlighted his collaborative prowess, OLIVER stands alone as a powerful statement of self-assurance, drawing from his journey from a childhood in Port Harcourt to his studies in Ghana and NYSC in Sokoto. With its streetwise narrative and dynamic sound, OLIVER positions Wizard Chan as a rising force in Nigerian music, poised to make waves as part of his upcoming album rollout.
