Rema Feeds The Streets With Genre-Blurring New Single “Baby (It’s A Crime)”

Rema Feeds The Streets With Genre-Blurring New Single “Baby (It’s A Crime)”

Rema, the visionary artist reshaping Afrobeats, is back with his latest single, Baby (It’s A Crime). Sampling the legendary Sade and produced by P.Priime, the track first surfaced last November as an unfinished snippet. Since then, it has taken on a life of its own—dominating social media, soundtracking December’s biggest celebrations, and fueling anticipation worldwide.

True to his reputation for pushing boundaries, Rema refines his sound once again, crafting a rich and immersive sonic experience. Baby (It’s A Crime) was born from a creative spark during a session in Kenya last year, evolving into a smooth, hypnotic masterpiece. The track has already made waves, earning the coveted Hottest Record title from BBC Radio 1’s Jack Saunders.

The song is accompanied by a visually stunning music video, filmed in London earlier this January. Coming off a career-defining 2024—including his Grammy-nominated album HEIS and a historic homecoming concert at Benin City’s 12,000-seat Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium—Rema shows no signs of slowing down. He has already made waves in 2025, touching down in London, Paris, and LA, where he was spotted courtside with Central Cee and in the studio working on his next project.

With Baby (It’s A Crime) already spiraling into a global sensation, Rema’s next chapter offers some interesting promise.
