    Trill Xoe Takes A Bold Artistic Step On “Damage Control II” EP

    The Nigerian music scene continues to be a fertile ground, breeding talents with influences of different genres, most of which are broadly categorized as Afrobeats. One of her rising stars, an artist and music producer, Trill Xoe, has been attempting to write his name in the history books since his debut with Blood, Sweat & Tears EP in 2018. His influences, stemming from a blend of Afrobeats, R&B, hip-hop and grime, is noticeable in the quality of his music as he creates a unique, eclectic soundscape that traverses geographical boundaries.

    Six years later, Trill Xoe is back with yet another EP Damage Control II, the third in his artistic canon after Lucent that was released in 2023. In his latest project, the artiste delivers raw emotion through smooth melodies, introspective lyrics, and infectious beats, showcasing his unique ability to transform pain into powerful music. Each track embodies Trill Xoe’s creative vision, offering a fresh take on the evolving landscape of contemporary music.

    The five-track project features other exciting acts, PsychoYP, JohnWav, Rydm City, C3VN, Ria Sean and Temë and Veen, attesting to Trill Xoe’s flexibility and collaborative instincts. Each song provides a leans into the artiste’s honeyed vocals with a range of beats and instrumentals that appeal to contemporary music tastes. The tracks list contains Season, Mood, Better, Zen and Nothing 2 Me—all of which are songs that resonate reflect the human experience and resonate with the soul.

    The standout single, Zen featuring Teme and Ria Sean, is captivating blend of soulful vocals and addictive beats. Considered a playlist favorite, Zen is that sort of song that music that helps you clear your conscience and you find your centre.

    “Even when you go, I will be okay on my own,” sings Ria Sean, capturing the essence of empowerment that comes with moving on. With affirmations like “standing on 10 toes, I’ve been doing this alone”, listeners will find the motivation to tackle life’s challenges head-on.

    Released on 6th December, 2024, Damage Control II is available across all streaming platforms.
