With Obodo, Larry Gaaga continues his legacy of initiating amazing collaborations, this time uniting Phyno, Flavour, and Theresa Onuorah under the production mastery of Masterkraft. Known for his exceptional ear for talent and keen understanding of the Nigerian music landscape, Larry Gaaga has once again curated a powerful collaboration that resonates with deep-rooted cultural significance.

Produced by Masterkraft, Obodo beautifully merges modern Afrobeats with the soul and rhythm of traditional Igbo music, creating a nostalgic yet contemporary sound. Masterkraft’s production is layered with organic instruments and rhythmic drum patterns reminiscent of South Eastern sounds, enhancing the authenticity of the track. Theresa Onuorah’s inclusion brings an extra level of cultural depth, as her iconic, folk-inspired voice evokes a sense of community and pride in Nigerian heritage.

Phyno and Flavour bring their signature styles to the song, blending seamlessly with Theresa Onuorah’s traditional vocals. Phyno’s rap verses, delivered in Igbo, add a modern touch while maintaining cultural relevance. His flow is compelling and pairs well with Flavour’s smooth, melodic voice, which captures the essence of Igbo highlife music. Flavour’s verse in Obodo is both soulful and celebratory, a tribute to the beauty and spirit of Nigerian communities. Together, Phyno and Flavour honour their roots, while Larry Gaaga’s vision pulls it all together in a harmonious way.

Theresa Onuorah, often called the “Queen of Egedege,” brings authenticity to Obodo, grounding it in tradition. Her influence and unique sound elevate the track from a simple Afrobeats song to a rich tapestry of culture and art. Her presence is a nod to Nigeria’s past, an anchor that connects younger listeners to their heritage while appealing to older fans familiar with her work.

Obodo’s synergy between artists of different generations highlights Larry Gaaga’s talent for building cross-generational collaborations. This song is a celebration of Nigerian heritage that transcends borders, resonating with audiences both locally and in the diaspora. Larry Gaaga’s reputation as a master collaborator is well-deserved, and with Obodo, he adds another potential classic to his lineup of hit collaborations, further solidifying his role in shaping the narrative of African music
