Crayon returns with new single 'Baami'

Mavin Records’ very own Crayway captain, Crayon, has released a vibrant new single titled Baami. Following the success of his recent collaborations and his steady growth as a hitmaker, Baami is a high-spirited Afrobeat track that focuses on protection, good vibes, and the celebration of life. The song is a playful but firm warning to anyone trying to disrupt his peace or “put sand-sand” in his success.

Lyrically, Crayon leans into catchy Pidgin English metaphors, famously rapping about “not letting anyone take the ball for Papilo.” The track is quintessential Crayon, melodic, colourful, and instantly hummable. It’s the kind of song that feels right at home in a summer playlist, carrying a warmth and energy that has become the singer’s trademark since he joined the Mavin fold in 2019.

The visual accompaniment for Baami is equally impressive, featuring a burst of colours and energetic choreography that matches the song’s tempo. Crayon’s ability to craft hooks that stick in your head is on full display here, and the production provides a lush backdrop of horns and rhythmic drums that will surely make this a staple on radio airwaves across the continent.

Produced by Ozedikus, Baami represents Crayon’s continued evolution from a promising newcomer to a reliable pillar of the Mavin roster. As he prepares for more extensive projects later this year, this single serves as a perfect appetizer, keeping fans engaged with his infectious optimism and unique vocal texture.
