OKITHEWIZARD to Unveil ALTÉ – A Fearless Afro-Alternative Statement Arriving January 1, 2026

As the new year approaches, rising alternative Afrobeat artist OKITHEWIZARD is set to usher in 2026 with the release of his forthcoming 6-track project, ALTÉ, scheduled to arrive on January 1. More than a debut into the year, the project stands as a bold artistic declaration; one that champions individuality, cultural fusion, and the freedom to exist outside convention.

Born in Ozubulu, Anambra State (Nigeria) and raised between Aarhus, Denmark and Florida, USA, with his creative roots grounded in Los Angeles, OKITHEWIZARD’s sound reflects a life lived across continents. His musical journey began early: playing guitar with his cousin in Denmark, joining a school band in Florida, and singing in a church choir in Alakuko, Lagos. These formative experiences shaped a deep musical curiosity that would later define his genre-defying approach.

Before stepping fully into artistry, OKITHEWIZARD carved out a name as an underground DJ in Los Angeles, immersing himself in diverse sound cultures. His evolution continued at the LA Film School, where he refined his production skills and began developing a sound that merges alternative Afrobeat with Afro-punk energy, hip-hop grit, and pop sensibility. Today, he stands as an artist committed to pushing sonic boundaries while celebrating the magic of being different.

ALTÉ captures this ethos in full. The project blends alternative Afrobeat rhythms with raw, expressive production and emotionally resonant lyricism, forming a vibrant exploration of culture and self-expression. Each track offers a distinct soundscape, guiding listeners through immersive melodies and bold creative choices that challenge traditional genre lines.

At its core, ALTÉ is a story of fearless identity. It reflects the spirit of a new generation that embraces its roots while confidently stepping into uncharted creative territory. The project positions itself not just as music, but as a cultural statement; where sound, individuality, and artistic freedom collide.
