Victony and Olamide combine forces for 'Skido'

Nigerian Afrobeats star Victony, born Anthony Ebuka Victor, has released his explosive new single Skido, featuring the African music OG, Olamide. The high-octane collaboration arrives as a highlight of New Music Friday, teasing Victony’s forthcoming project. Produced by the prolific Blaise Beatz, Skido fuses Victony’s melodic innovation with Olamide’s gritty street authority, delivering a track that has equal parts party starter and motivational manifesto.

Skido is a street-hop tune that pulses with raw hustle and triumphant vibes, blending pulsating basslines, atmospheric synths, sharp percussion, and infectious melodies into a beat that’s built for replay. Victony’s silky, atmospheric vocals glide through verses laced with introspective lyricism, touching on resilience amid life’s judgments: “No let them crucify you (Crucify you) / Jesus don do the work already,” while the hook’s chant-like “Skido skido ah skido” evokes phrases of perseverance and escape. Olamide’s entry flips the energy, injecting his usual sharp flows and Yoruba swagger for a gritty contrast that grounds the track in authentic Nigerian street culture. Blaise Beatz’s production shines with urgency and drive, creating a “push-and-pull” dynamic that keeps listeners locked in from drop one.

The pairing of Victony, the 24-year-old prodigy known for boundary-pushing hits like Soweto and his genre-spanning Outlaw, with Olamide, feels like a torch-passing moment. Olamide’s verse reaffirms his kingmaker status, adding cultural weight and mentorship vibes, while Victony’s fresh perspective elevates the sound for a new wave. This marks another powerhouse collab in Victony’s stacked 2025 slate. Lyrically, Skido celebrates gratitude amid the grind.

Fire up Skido today and feel the fusion of legacy and innovation, Victony and Olamide just redefined the hustle soundtrack for 2025.
