Qing Madi falls for a 'Scumbag' in new single

Nigerian singer-songwriter Qing Madi, born Chimamanda Pearl Chukwuma, has released a powerful new single titled Scumbag, furthering her status as one of the strongest talents in the Afrobeats business. Known for her impressive lineup of hits, the 19-year-old prodigy delivers a track that blends her usual Afrobeats, R&B, and soulful sound with raw emotional depth. Scumbag, produced by Wademix, finds Qing Madi confronting a harsh truth about love and attraction, that many women often fall deeper for the very men society labels as scumbags. This time, she admits she’s no exception, as she reveals she, too, has fallen in love with a scumbag, hence the track’s title, Scumbag.

Scumbag is a poignant exploration of betrayal and toxic relationships, with Qing Madi confronting the pain of being let down by someone trusted. The track’s smooth, atmospheric production, featuring subtle percussions, dreamy chords, and mellow rhythms, complements her emotive vocals, allowing her storytelling to shine. Her lyrics cut deep, capturing raw vulnerability while emphasizing self-awareness and empowerment. Rather than dwelling solely on heartbreak, Qing Madi transforms the narrative into one of reclaiming strength and moving forward, making the song relatable and uplifting.

Since its release earlier today, Scumbag has been praised on social media for its lyrical depth and infectious melody. It is a quality addition to Qing Madi’s growing catalogue that has reinforced her place in the modern Afrobeat scene. As part of her 2025 releases, following her debut album I Am The Blueprint, Scumbag highlights Qing Madi’s continued artistic evolution as an artist unafraid to show vulnerability with confidence.
