Joey Jaey Explore Love and Vulnerability in “My Life”

Joey Jaey Explore Love and Vulnerability in “My Life”

In an era where Afrobeats dominates global charts and Alte continues to push artistic boundaries, Nigerian-Canadian artist Joey Jaey returns with a powerful new single, My Life. The track is a stirring anthem that captures love in its most intoxicating, tender, and dangerous form.

Far more than just another love song, My Life is an emotional statement. Built on Joey’s rich vocal range and layered with warm Afrobeats percussion, the record tells the story of surrendering to a love so consuming it feels like survival. Lines like “Shebi you wan take my life o / Baby you wan take my life” reveal the paradox of romance as both sanctuary and risk.

Produced by NakedBeatz and released under Joey Jaey Recordz, the single blends Afrobeats, Alte influences, and pop melodies into a seamless, universal sound. A cinematic music video, set to premiere two weeks after the release, will bring the song’s raw emotion to life visually.

Joey’s own journey is as compelling as his music. From Delta State, Nigeria, to Toronto, Canada, he has reinvented himself multiple times, from lawyer to human rights advocate to award-winning musician. His debut album Naija to the 6ix established his genre-fluid style, while the amapiano-inspired hit Orekelewa won accolades as far away as Cuba.

Now, with My Life leading his sophomore album of the same name, Joey Jaey is less focused on fleeting trends and more determined to build a legacy. His music carries the soul of Africa while speaking the universal language of vulnerability through reflection, love, parties, or truth.
