Nigerian Afropop queen Yemi Alade has released her vibrant new single, My Padi, marking her third release of the year via Effyzzie Music Group. Produced by Valentino Ogbonnaya (9fingers), the two-minute track blends smooth vocals with rhythmic percussion and sunlit guitar riffs, creating an upbeat ode to friendship and loyalty. The title My Padi, a Nigerian Pidgin term for a close friend, sets the tone with lyrics like “You ride with me through every storm, my padi till the end,” reflecting the value of steadfast companionship through life’s highs and lows.

Following the success of her earlier 2025 singles, Iyanu and Keys to Your Heart, My Padi showcases Alade’s signature Afropop and R&B fusion, bolstered by crisp production that balances modern polish with organic instrumentation. The song’s infectious beat and catchy hook have already sparked excitement, with fans praising its danceable vibe and emotional resonance on social platforms. As a seasoned artist with seven studio albums and collaborations with global stars like Rick Ross and Angelique Kidjo, Alade continues to solidify her status as a cultural icon, with My Padi arriving just in time to energize the summer festival season.

Available now on all major streaming platforms, My Padi reinforces Alade’s reputation for crafting music that invites movement while celebrating African identity, making it a must-listen for music lovers.
