    Ric Hassani Tells A Story of Love With “Lagos Lover Boy”

    Nigerian singer and songwriter Ric Hassani returns with his most personal and expansive project yet titled Lagos Lover Boy. This 21-track album explores the emotional terrain of love, heartbreak, and self-discovery through the lens of life in Lagos.

    A bold blend of soul, Afrobeats, and contemporary pop, Lagos Lover Boy is both a musical and emotional journey. Ric Hassani weaves a deeply intimate narrative, where each track tells a unique story of love and of betrayal, of heartache and of healing, of finding faith and ultimately, rediscovering purpose.

    Drawing from the vibrant rhythms and cultural heartbeat of Lagos, the direction of the album is steeped in the city’s rich soundscape, featuring the timeless echoes of the talking drum to the dynamic pulse of everyday life. This connection to place gives the album its grounding, while Ric’s introspective lyricism gives it depth.More than an album, Lagos Lover Boy is a love letter to the city, to its people, and to everyone who has ever dared to love deeply, lost painfully, and still believed again. It is a celebration of resilience,

    vulnerability, and the redemptive power of love.

    Born Ikechukwu Eric Ahiauzu, is a Nigerian singer and songwriter whose music blends Afro-pop, R&B, and soul, creating a sound that’s as timeless as it is unique. Known for his smooth vocals, emotive storytelling, and sharp style, Hassani has captivated audiences across Africa and beyond, earning him a dedicated fanbase and a reputation as one of Africa’s most beloved artists.

    Ric Hassani started releasing music in the early 2010s and broke onto the mainstream scene in 201

    6 with his breakout single Gentleman, an ode to respect and empathy in relationships, which quickly became a cultural anthem. The song’s success positioned him as a new voice in African pop, earning him accolades across the continent. His debut album, The African Gentleman, was released in 2017 and solidified his role as a pioneering artist who championed a fresh sound and aesthetic in African music; stylish, and grounded in the principles of love and respect.

    Today, Ric Hassani is celebrated not only as an artist but as an ambassador of African music and culture, capturing the beauty of the continent’s sounds and bringing it to a global audience. He’s also a Judge at Nigerian Idols music reality TV show. With his latest releases and upcoming projects, Ric Hassani continues to redefine what it means to be an African gentleman in the music world by staying passionate, stylish, and always authentic.
