Big Xx Unveil Wxyz; A Spiritual Renaissance From Nigeria

Nigerian genre disruptors and cultural visionaries BIG XX have released their debut EP, WXYZ, a powerful and transcendent body of work introducing a new genre they call “Sonic Spirituals.” This groundbreaking sound blends ancestral rhythm with futuristic energy, positioning BIG XX at the forefront of a global music renaissance.

The duo, comprised of Bejay X (Bukola Fadipe), a global IP lawyer and creative entrepreneur, and XtremeTheProducer, an acclaimed hitmaker, are both alumni of Afe Babalola University (ABUAD). Together, they aim to awaken the musical instincts at humanity’s core. “Like birds, we believe all humans are musical,” says Bejay X. “WXYZ is music that stirs the soul.”

Bejay X has quietly shaped some of Afrobeats’ most iconic global moments. As lead publicist for Burna Boy during Twice As Tall and African Giant, and key strategist behind Tems’ global breakthrough with Essence, Bejay has helped frame the cultural narrative of a generation. He’s represented global names like Naomi Campbell, Ckay, Johnny Drille, and Spaceship Records, and managed stars like Timaya and Yung Willis.

In 2023, he founded X Records, now one of Africa’s fastest-growing indie labels with 100+ artists across continents. The label is home to breakthrough talents including: AY Zed,  the producer behind Black Sherif’s chart-topping Sacrifice and Kizz Daniel’s Al-Jannah featuring Odumodublvck and Bella Shmurda. Deco Suave, one of the most influential African voices rising from the UK, and Topnotch Toby & Topnotch Triq, lyrical trailblazers carrying the torch of African storytelling through sound.

Produced entirely by XtremeTheProducer, the EP builds on the legacy of his work on In My Head, the historic collaboration between Timaya and Tiwa Savage. Now mentoring a new wave of innovators like Soularr, Nikos Loving, and Siraheem Okoya, Xtreme is sculpting the next era of African sound.

WXYZ also introduces XGirl, a young American prodigy who sings fluently in Kikuyu and Swahili languages she learned from her Kenyan nanny. Though her identity remains under wraps, her performance on the EP signals the universal resonance of African rhythm and language.

Through a groundbreaking equity partnership with UK-based IP firm IPX, X Records has secured the legal and creative infrastructure to globally scale African music while protecting the rights of its creators. This model marks a shift in how African IP is managed and monetized worldwide.
