Afrobeats sensation Fido has finally released the much-anticipated music video for his smash hit single Joy Is Coming. The video, directed by the skilled Filmboi, brings the song’s uplifting energy to life, marking a significant moment for the 27-year-old Matogun, Ogun State native, who has quickly become one of Nigeria’s most talked-about talents. Following its initial release in December 2024, Joy Is Coming has emerged as one of the biggest songs in Nigeria this year, dominating the airwaves, charts, and social media.

The music video, filmed in the vibrant streets of Lagos, showcases dazzling choreography and vivid visuals that amplify the track’s message of hope, resilience, and celebration. Fido’s charismatic presence shines as he navigates scenes of triumph and transformation, with dancers and colourful settings reflecting the song’s promise of brighter days. The chorus—“And if e no be Galala, I go give dem Fuji Mòdupè, Òluwá, Òluwá, ye-ay Joy is coming”—is brought to life with infectious energy, resonating with fans who have embraced it as an anthem amid challenging times. The video’s release follows months of anticipation, with Fido teasing its arrival through social media, building on the song’s viral success on TikTok and its chart-topping run on Apple Music Nigeria and the Official Nigeria Top 100.

Joy Is Coming has been a cultural phenomenon, amassing over 3.6 million YouTube views on the audio alone and inspiring celebrities like Funke Akindele and Davido to vibe to its beats. Its dominance on streaming platforms and radio, coupled with its five-week reign at No. 1 on the TurnTable Top 100, underscores its status as a standout track of 2025. The video’s arrival today adds a visual layer to this success, offering a cinematic celebration that matches the song’s feel-good essence, solidifying Fido’s place as a star with a sound that’s capturing hearts across Nigeria and beyond.
