Monsieur Belange drops “Jack in the Box” — inspired by Lagos, Los Angeles, and late-night dreams

Monsieur Belange’s highly anticipated single, “Jack in the Box,” officially drops on April 25, 2025. Fusing soulful vocals, rapid-fire rap, and nostalgic ’90s hip-hop energy, the track follows “Maccin,” a smooth-talking dreamer navigating his journey from the vibrant streets of Lagos to the buzzing nightlife of Los Angeles—all sparked by an encounter at the iconic fast-food chain that inspired the chorus.

“One summer afternoon in 2022, I was sitting outside a Jack in the Box in California, scrolling Instagram, when I stumbled on a photo of Kim Kardashian,” Belange shares. “That random moment sparked the second verse. It’s about connection, hustle, and chasing dreams across different worlds.”

What began as a casual lunch became the fuel for a vibrant anthem that fuses personal experience with universal themes of ambition, romance, and resilience.

Following his breakthrough with “For the Ransom,” which earned praise from The New York Times and CNN for its raw storytelling and boundary-pushing sound, Monsieur Belange continues to evolve. “Jack in the Box” offers a bright, infectious soundscape that captures both the triumphs and struggles of the immigrant hustle, set against a head-nodding summer beat.

Los Angeles–based artist Monsieur Belange blends soulful R&B, hip-hop, and thought-provoking storytelling, drawing inspiration from ’90s icons and modern visionaries like Chris Brown. His music explores love, ambition, freedom, and hope — and with “Jack in the Box,” he continues to cement his place as one of today’s most compelling new voices.
