Afro-Fusion act Qasim shares inspiring and emotion-driven single ‘Blessings’

Nigerian-American artist Qasim has unveiled his latest single, ‘Blessings’, a vibrant and soul-stirring track that blends the infectious rhythms of Afro-fusion with the pulsating beats of Amapiano.

In a time when rising inflation and financial struggles weigh heavily on many in Nigeria, this track serves as both a reminder and a reassurance. Rooted in gratitude, faith, and the power of manifestation, Blessings is an ode to looking beyond hardship, trusting in God, and keeping sight of the bigger picture. The single is released via Oluwe Records and Dvpper Digital.

With production driven by the talented Mr. Eff (credits: Davido, Tiwa Savage, and Teni) which displays his usual masterful touch, layering intricate percussion and basslines and mixed by Jake Gordon (credits: Bob Marley, NSG, Not3s, Bloody Civilian, and Fave), ‘Blessings’ is a testament to Qasim’s evolving artistry and his ability to weave personal storytelling into universally relatable music. The single is now available on all major streaming platforms.

Arriving on the back of critical acclaim by Turntable Charts, Lambo Xtra, and Rotate Magazine, ‘Blessings’ is more than just a catchy single-it’s a celebration of resilience and progress. Speaking about the single, Qasim said: “This song is inspired by my own journey—the struggles I’ve faced, the times I wanted to give up, and the progress I’ve made despite it all. I’m not where I want to be yet, but I’ve overcome things that once felt impossible. This is about celebrating the small wins, staying motivated, and reminding myself (and anyone listening) that as long as we keep pushing, success is already in motion.”

With ‘Blessings’, Qasim solidifies his position as one of Afrobeats’ most promising new talents coming out of the United States and establishes himself as a truly unique voice in global music who is doing things sonically that nobody has done before. The single is a bold introduction to an artist who is unafraid to blend his cultural heritage with modern sonic influences, creating music that is both innovative and resonant. ‘Blessings’ offers an authentic picture of who Qasim is – an artist who bridges cultures, defies genres, and is unapologetically himself.

He gained rare notoriety early on by singing Islamic passages at his local mosque; his voice often moving the congregation to tears, he recalls. That’s when he discovered he could move people with his voice, and soon, he would be asked to perform at Eid dinners and weddings.
