Shallipopi unveils lavish music video for 'Laho'

Following the rise of his instant hit single Laho, Afrobeats sensation Shallipopi has doubled down on the track’s momentum with the release of its official music video, a visual spectacle that oozes extravagance and swagger. Unveiled yesterday, the video—directed by the acclaimed Perliks—elevates the song from a chart-topping anthem to a full-blown cultural moment. Produced by Progrex, the song itself has already been hailed as one of the hottest releases in the Afrobeats scene this year, its infectious beat and simple yet catchy hooks dominating the charts since its debut.

Laho music video is rooted in opulence, dripping with the kind of larger-than-life energy that matches the song’s braggadocious vibe. Shallipopi takes center stage, surrounded by stacks of crisp dollar bills that underscore his lavish lifestyle. His ice-cold gold chains and bracelets glint under the camera’s gaze, exhibiting his unapologetic flair. Adding to the video’s star power are appearances from his close-knit crew—his brothers Zerry DL and Famous Pluto—who join him in revelling in the high life. The trio’s chemistry is palpable, amplifying the sense of brotherhood and shared success that runs through Shallipopi’s narrative.

Shallipopi is seen posted up in a sleek Cadillac Escalade, the luxury SUV serving as a rolling symbol of his ascent. The vehicle’s polished exterior adds a cinematic touch, framing him as a king on the move. Interspersed with these scenes are glimpses of Shallipopi in the studio, vibing to the tune he’s made a hit.

Directed by Perliks Definition, known for his bold and vibrant visual style, the video is a feast of rich colours and dynamic cuts, perfectly syncing with Progrex’s pulsating production. The beat’s heavy bass and layered melodies find their match in sweeping camera angles and fast-paced edits, keeping viewers hooked from start to finish.

Laho has created an incredible moment for Shallipopi, riding the wave of his growing influence in Afrobeats. Since its audio release, it’s racked up millions of streams, with its hook—“Egumede o, Laho”—becoming a rallying cry for fans chasing their wins. The video’s release pushes that momentum further, offering a lavish companion that’s already trending across the net. With Zerry DL and Famous Pluto by his side, Shallipopi isn’t just riding the wave—he’s steering it, delivering a video that’s as bold and unmissable as the track itself. In a year already packed with Afrobeats heat, Laho and its opulent visual stand tall, proving Shallipopi’s star is only getting brighter.
