Dremo reflects Nigeria's reality in 'Dem No Really Send Us'

Renowned Nigerian rapper Dremo has returned with a gritty, hard-hitting single titled, Dem No Really Send Us. On the track, Dremo gets candid as he reflects on Nigeria’s reality, terrible governance, social vices and more. Known for his technical rap skills and his ability to pivot between hip-hop and Afropop, Dremo uses this release to address the noise and politics of the music industry and the country at large.

Dem No Really Send Us is characterized by its heavy bass and rapid-fire lyricism. Dremo delivers verses that are both introspective and confrontational, touching on his journey through the ranks of Nigerian hip-hop and the reality of the average Nigerian limited by terrible governance. The title, a popular Nigerian pidgin phrase meaning “they don’t really care about us,” sets a defiant tone that resonates with anyone grinding toward a goal in the face of indifference.

The single is a central part of a massive 2026 rollout for the rapper, arriving alongside his multi-part project The Chronicles of Bamidele and his Man2Man series. This high volume of releases shows a Dremo who is hungry and prolific, reclaiming his spot as one of the most consistent lyricists in the country. The production on the track is sparse but intentional, ensuring that his message and flow remain the focal point.

Early feedback from the fan camp has hailed the track as a return to the Codename era energy that first made him a star. By leaning into his strengths as a storyteller and a rhythmic rapper, Dremo is proving that he still has plenty of fire in the booth. Dem No Really Send Us exposes the hypocrisy of Nigerian politicians.
