Yung6ix and Vector unite for 'Never Have I Ever'

The self-acclaimed King of The South Yung6ix, has teamed up with the lyrical machine Vector for Never Have I Ever. The track is a high-stakes lyrical exercise that sees both rappers at the top of their game. Borrowing its title from the popular party game, the song functions as a series of confessions and braggadocio statements, revealing the grit and determination behind their respective paths in the industry.

The track is a dream come true for rap purists. Vector delivers a masterclass in puns and metaphors, maintaining his reputation as one of Africa’s most intelligent lyricists. Yung6ix, meanwhile, provides the perfect counterweight with his signature billionaire flow and rhythmic delivery. He leans into his King of the South persona, rapping about wealth, survival, and the lessons learned in the trenches. The chemistry between Vector’s cerebral approach and 6ix’s charismatic swagger creates an engaging listening experience.

Produced by CIQ, the track is a sophisticated blend of Hip-Hop and Afrobeats. It features a brooding, dark synth melody over sharp, crisp snares and deep 808s. The beat is minimalist enough to ensure that every syllable is heard, which is essential for a track this lyrically dense. It feels mature, moving away from the pop-rap sound toward something more substantial and respected. This is Hip-Hop for the grown-ups, yet it retains a rhythmic bounce that will keep it relevant in urban radio rotations.

Never Have I Ever is a significant release for the 2026 hip-hop scene. It proves that the genre’s elder statesmen can still innovate and collaborate effectively without chasing younger trends. It is a song about authenticity and staying true to the craft, delivered by two artists who have survived multiple eras of the industry. It’s a powerful, necessary record that reinforces the idea that Hip-Hop in Nigeria is alive, well, and more vocal than ever.
