Jeriq declares he's 'BORN TO BE GREAT' in new single

Nigerian hip-hop sensation, Jeriq, returns with a powerful motivational record titled BORN TO BE GREAT. Known for his gritty style and street-hop sensibilities, Jeriq pivots slightly here toward a more expansive, triumphant sound. Produced by Dr Jayswaarg, the track features heavy cinematic strings and a thumping trap beat that provides a regal backdrop for Jeriq’s reflections on his rise from the trenches to the pinnacle of the rap game.

The song is essentially a letter to his younger self and a rallying cry for his “Iyoo” movement. Jeriq’s lyrics are delivered with a sense of urgency and conviction that is rare in modern rap, he isn’t just bragging about his success, he is documenting the scars it took to get there. His ability to blend Igbo and English fluently allows him to maintain a deep connection with his core demographic while making his message of greatness accessible to a wider audience.

In BORN TO BE GREAT, the themes of destiny, hard work, and spiritual guidance are at the forefront. Jeriq emphasizes that greatness isn’t just about the final destination but the mindset one maintains during the struggle. This track feels like a turning point for the artist, moving away from purely street anthems toward a more legend-making persona that aims to inspire rather than just entertain.

With its anthemic chorus and high-production value, BORN TO BE GREAT is likely to become a staple in motivational playlists. Jeriq continues to prove that he is one of the most consistent and authentic voices in Nigerian Hip-Hop, maintaining his cultural roots while expanding his sonic territory with every release.
