Phenom and Dremo combines forces for 'Balenciaga'

In a music industry currently dominated by singing and melody, Phenom and Dremo have teamed up to remind everyone that hip-hop is still very much alive in Nigeria. “Balenciaga” is a bar-heavy, braggadocio-filled track that sees two of the country’s most skilled lyricists trading verses with reckless abandon. Phenom, known for his intricate rhyme schemes, and Dremo, with his punchy delivery, have created a track that is strictly for the rap heads.

The song is centered around the metaphor of Balenciaga, using the luxury brand as a symbol for high status, exclusivity, and the “steaze” required to survive the industry. However, the luxury talk is just a vehicle for lyrical sparring. Phenom opens with a flow that reminds listeners why he was once touted as the future of Nigerian rap. His delivery is sharp, filled with double entendres and metaphors that require a second listen to fully unpack.

Dremo matches this energy perfectly. He brings the swagger, injecting the track with a confidence that borders on arrogance. His verse is filled with quotable lines and Instagram-caption-ready bars. The chemistry between the two is electric; it feels like a cypher recorded in a studio. They push each other to rap faster, harder, and smarter. The production is minimal, heavy 808s and a menacing piano loop—leaving plenty of space for the vocals to take center stage.

Balenciaga is a statement track. It is not trying to be a pop hit; it is trying to be the hardest rap song out right now. It appeals to the core fanbase that has been starving for bars in an era of vibes. It acknowledges the current fashion-obsessed culture of the youth while subverting it with gritty lyricism.

By teaming up, Phenom and Dremo have reasserted their relevance. They have delivered a track that commands respect from their peers and excitement from their fans. Balenciaga is proof that when it comes to flow, cadence, and delivery, these two are still in the upper echelon of the rap game. It’s a hard-hitting, head-nodding reminder that the pen is still mightier than the autotune.
