Queen of Afro fusion Princess Wonda shines with soulful new Single ‘Darling’

UK-born Nigerian vocalist Princess Wonda, popularly crowned the “Queen of Afro Fusion”, is captivating listeners with her latest single, Darling, released on November 21, 2025.

Known for her seamless blend of Afrobeat, R&B, and pop, Wonda takes a more intimate turn with this track, delivering a sound that’s built on warmth, connection, and timeless romance.

Produced by Mr Marz, Darling features Princess Wonda’s rich, velvety vocals layered over smooth, rhythmic production that fuses Afro-Pop and Afro-R&B. The song explores the fragility and resilience of love in a fast-paced world, with Wonda herself describing it as a reminder that “true love still deserves to be fought for.” Unlike her high-energy party anthems like No Yawa, Lala Le, Darling invites listeners into a reflective and emotionally textured space while retaining the rhythmic pulse fans have come to expect.

The release follows a series of successful projects, including her debut album Fantasy Fair (October 2021), which peaked at #27 on the UK iTunes chart and featured collaborations with Awilo Longomba and 1da Banton. 2025 just solidifies Wonda’s consistent innovation across the Afro-fusion spectrum; from dancehall-inflected grooves to Latin-reggaeton beats, she sets the stage for Darling to stand out as a song that balances romance, vulnerability, and global appeal.

Already making waves across streaming platforms, Darling is primed for playlist rotation on Afro-Pop, Afro-R&B, and romantic-Afrobeat sets, reaching both diaspora audiences and global listeners. With an accompanying visual campaign reflecting the warmth and intimacy of the track, Princess Wonda delivers a song that moves both the body and the heart; her most soulful offering yet.
