Damilola “Dapper” Akinwunmi Introduces Giddy Girls – The Hidden Voices Behind Burna Boy’s “Higher”, “Love” and TML Vibez’s “Amiri”

Behind some of Afrobeats’ most unforgettable melodies are voices you’ve heard but never seen. Now, those voices belong to a group of exceptionally talented young girls stepping into the spotlight for the first time.

Damilola “Dapper” Akinwunmi, Founder and CEO of Dapper Music and Entertainment, proudly introduces Giddy Girls, a remarkable all-female vocal collective made up of students of Chalcedony School, Lekki, Lagos, whose harmonies have quietly shaped some of the most streamed Afrobeats hits of 2024 and 2025.

Their voices can be heard on Burna Boy’s Higher and Love, where their ethereal harmonies became the emotional spine of two of Burna’s most talked-about records. They also lent their vibrant vocals to TML Vibez’s “Amiri,” a chart-topping anthem that has dominated playlists across Nigeria and beyond.

The group – Ifeoluwa Ayoola, Irene Aziba, Michelle Imafidon, Isabella Osayi, and Deborah Aleshinloye, are guided and trained by Omoba Godwin Eshiomomoh (Music Director and Vocal Handler) alongside Chisom “Jaysythns” Onyeke, the producer and sound engineer helping refine their signature blend of gospel-rooted warmth, pop melodies, and Lagos street rhythm.

Though still in their teens, the Giddy Girls are redefining what young female artistry can look like in Afrobeats. Their sound is soulful yet innocent, precise yet full of emotion, proof that true talent knows no age.

Speaking on their introduction, Damilola “Dapper” Akinwunmi said:

“These girls are a revelation. They’ve brought magic to every record they’ve touched, from Burna’s ‘Higher’ and ‘Love’ to TML Vibez’s ‘Amiri.’ It’s rare to see this level of harmony, discipline, and passion from such young voices. At Dapper, our goal is to give them the platform they deserve, because they represent the future of African music.”

While Giddy Girls aren’t debuting a solo single just yet, Dapper Music and Entertainment has hinted at several collaborative projects and showcases in development, including features with some of Afrobeats’ biggest names.

From classroom rehearsals at Chalcedony School to major studio sessions across Lagos, Giddy Girls embody the spirit of a new generation, talented, disciplined, and ready to take their place at the center of the Afrobeats soundscape.
They may be young, but their voices are already echoing across the continent.
