Garvicii Searches For Identity With Debut EP, “Becoming Garvicii”

Warri-born sonic experimentalist Garvicii has unveiled his debut EP, Becoming Garvicii, a six-track odyssey tracing his evolution from a restless dreamer into one of Nigeria’s most daring new voices.

Following the critical acclaim of his introspective debut single Conversations, a spiritual reckoning between self and God And his vulnerable ballad Heartless, which explores the ache of unrequited love, Garvicii now pulls back the curtain on a larger story: one of identity, transformation, and unapologetic self-expression.

Across Conversations, Adiwali, Heartless, Senses, Like You, and Waka, the project drifts between celebration and introspection, intimacy and defiance, painting a vivid portrait of an artist in the process of becoming.

In Garvicii’s own words, Becoming Garvicii is “not just music; it’s documentation. A mirror of who I am, and a forecast of who I’m becoming.”

With a soundscape that bends Afrobeats into experimental territories and lyrics oscillating between confession and confrontation, the EP establishes Garvicii as a bold new force redefining contemporary African sound.

Born and raised in Warri, Nigeria, Garvicii is a fast-rising artist carving his own lane in the global music scene through a dynamic fusion of Afrobeats, hip-hop, and pop. His sound is a testament to versatility, infectious melodies intertwined with avant-garde sonic textures that challenge convention.

In late 2024, Garvicii gained international attention for his collaboration with UK virtual band Studio Killers on the remix of Jenny (I Wanna Ruin Our Friendship), a viral hit boasting billions of views and millions of TikTok creations. His Afrobeats-infused verse brought new life to the track, merging cultures through rhythm and energy.

Now stepping fully into his own light, Garvicii’s Becoming Garvicii cements his place as not just a sonic innovator, but a storyteller, one unafraid to wrestle with vulnerability, faith, and identity. With his eyes fixed on both Nigerian and global stages, Garvicii is more than an artist, he’s a movement in motion.
