Nigerian Afrobeats veteran Iyanya has teamed up with the sensation Fido to release a brand new single entitled Sorry. The mid-tempo track, co-produced by Ubi Franklin and Mikaba Beatz, serves as the lead single from Iyanya’s forthcoming album, The Forester’s Son, set to drop on September 19, 2025. Released under TripleM-G, Sorry blends heartfelt lyricism with infectious Afrobeats rhythms, showcasing the duo’s chemistry and delivering a relatable narrative of love, regret, and reconciliation.

Sorry is a deeply emotional track that fuses Afrobeats’ vibrant melodies with contemporary R&B influences, creating a radio-ready sound that can resonate with any listener. Produced with smooth percussions and melodic undertones, the song highlights Iyanya’s signature smooth vocals, seamlessly complemented by Fido’s fresh, dynamic style. The lyrics explore themes of remorse and the desire to mend a strained relationship, striking a chord with listeners through their sincerity. The track offers a glimpse into Iyanya’s personal storytelling, balancing his trademark style with introspective depth, while Fido’s contribution adds a modern edge to the collaboration.

The single sets the tone for The Forester’s Son, an album expected to reflect Iyanya’s heritage and artistic evolution, with Sorry acting as a powerful introduction. Fido, fresh off his debut EP Olayemi and hits like Awolowo, brings a bold, Afro-fusion energy that complements Iyanya’s seasoned artistry. The track’s release aligns with Iyanya’s continued relevance in Afrobeats, following his iconic hits like Kukere, and Fido’s rise as a new voice in the genre.

As the lead single for The Forester’s Son, Sorry positions Iyanya and Fido as a duo that can work, ready to impress Afrobeats fans globally.
