Nigerian Afrobeats sensation Bella Shmurda, born Abiola Ahmed Akinbiyi, dropped his latest single Holy Jah, further cementing his reputation as the “Ghetto Preacher.” This soul-stirring track blends street-hop grit with spiritual depth, delivering a message of faith, resilience, and gratitude. Following his collaborative track Dangbana Riddim with FOLA and the introspective Verily, Holy Jah is an impressive addition to Bella Shmurda’s evolving discography, signalling his upcoming album, expected later in 2025.

Produced by Popito, Holy Jah weaves reggae’s sacred tones with the raw energy of street-hop, creating a meditative and anthemic sound. The track’s mellow percussion, melodic strings, and amapiano-inspired log drums provide a smooth yet infectious rhythm, perfect for both reflection and the dancefloor. Bella’s lyrics are heartfelt, urging listeners to find strength in faith and look within for answers. Lines like “Wetin dey you find for sokoto, omo e fit dey your shokoto” deliver a timeless lesson: what you seek externally may already be within you. Singing “Happiness is all I need, I don’t want no stress,” Bella channels a universal desire for peace amidst life’s chaos.

Holy Jah sees Bella Shmurda transform personal struggles into relatable music. Known for his conscious lyricism, he reflects on life’s challenges while celebrating divine guidance and inner strength. The refrain “Holy Jah, wey know tomorrow” serves as a rhythmic prayer, balancing earthly hardships with spiritual hope. This track resonates with fans who connect with Bella’s journey from the streets of Lagos to global stages, reinforcing his role as a voice for everyday people.

Released to widespread acclaim, Holy Jah has been praised for its emotional clarity and infectious groove. Critics note its ability to inspire while keeping listeners moving, solidifying Bella’s place in the Afrobeat scene. As part of Bella Shmurda’s anticipated album rollout, Holy Jah sets a high bar, blending spiritual reflection with the vibrant energy that defines his sound.
