WeTalkSound Becomes a Curator on Apple Music, Amplifying African Music to a Worldwide Audience

West Africa’s leading cultural collective WeTalkSound (WTS) is proud to announce its official entry into Apple Music’s Curators’ Program. As part of this program, WTS will curate a series of editorial playlists focused on the diverse evolving soundscape of Africa, with an emphasis on Afrobeats and other African genres.

WeTalkSound-curated playlists are now live on Apple Music, showcasing a dynamic range of African music – from street anthems and Afro-R&B gems to nostalgic throwbacks and genre-bending dance music.

“Joining the Apple Music Curator program is a huge milestone, not just for WeTalkSound but for African music culture as a whole,” said Dunsin Bankole, Head of Operations at WeTalkSound. “We’re excited to bring our curatorial voice to a global platform and spotlight the sounds, artists, and communities shaping the future of African music.”

Curated playlists launched so far include: Street Frequency (African Street Music), Afromantic (Afro R&B), House on Fire (Afro House), Hot Drops (Afrobeats / Afro Pop), Eve (Female Artists), Time Machine (Nostalgia).

The collaboration reinforces Apple Music’s commitment to elevating regional curators who offer authentic and informed perspectives on global music culture.
