Nigerian Afrobeats star Runtown has made a triumphant return with his latest EP, Soundgod Fest IV. The six-track project, marking the fourth instalment of his acclaimed Soundgod Fest series, showcases his signature blend of Afrofusion, R&B, and dancehall, delivered with a refined and introspective edge. Following a brief hiatus after his 2022 album Signs, Runtown has made a compact yet impactful offering that balances nostalgia with innovation, solidifying his legacy as the Soundgod.

The EP opens with Mood Swings, a lush, emotionally charged track that embraces the unpredictability of love with silky vocals and a rhythmic groove, setting a soulful tone. Mon Bébé follows as a tender love letter, weaving poetic French expressions with Afro-R&B beats, highlighting Runtown’s lyrical finesse. The previously released Do Me returns as a passionate anthem, now finding new context within the EP’s arc, while End A Man delivers a reflective take on betrayal and resilience, sampling Bow Wow’s Thank You for a nostalgic R&B twist. The standout moment is Dangerous Hearts, featuring UK singer-producer Mr. Hudson, which resurrects a track from Signs with a cleared sample of Sade’s Sweetest Taboo, offering a cinematic and hauntingly romantic vibe. The project closes with a cohesive flow that reflects Runtown’s evolution, blending vulnerability with confidence.

Originally slated for June 13 but rescheduled to ensure perfection, Soundgod Fest IV builds on the momentum of lead singles Flow (December 2024) and Do Me (April 2025). Produced with top-tier collaborators, the EP’s tight structure emphasizes quality, with each track polished to reflect Runtown’s artistic maturity. Fans have greeted the release with enthusiasm, praising the EP’s emotional depth and Mr. Hudson’s contribution, while its availability on all major streaming platforms ensures a global reach. Soundgod Fest IV is a masterclass in self-assuredness, bridging Runtown’s Nigerian roots with a universal sound, making it a must-listen.
