BNXN enlists FOLA for new single 'Very Soon'

Nigerian Afro-fusion sensation BNXN, formerly known as Buju, continues to impress as he releases his latest single, Very Soon, featuring gifted singer FOLA. The track marks the fourth pre-release single from BNXN’s highly anticipated sophomore album CAPTAIN, slated for release on July 3, 2025. Following the release of earlier 2025 singles like the romantic Cutesy, the captivating Phenomena, and the Rema-assisted Fi Kan We Kan, Very Soon sets an emotional tone for what promises to be a landmark project in BNXN’s illustrious career.

Produced by the talented Beatz Vampire Craze, Very Soon is a seamless blend of Afrobeats’ infectious rhythms and modern R&B’s soulful undertones, showing off BNXN’s ability to merge genres while delivering deeply personal narratives. The track explores the theme of patience and longing in love, with BNXN’s introspective lyrics painting a vivid picture of anticipation and growth. Lines like “Ero bi mase para o je kin sun, very very soon I’ll do it better and I promise you ah” reflect a heartfelt promise of dedication and improvement, resonating with listeners who have experienced the tender ache of awaiting love’s fulfilment. FOLA, the gifted singer known for his 2024 breakout hit Alone and its subsequent remix featuring BNXN, adds a soulful dimension to the track with his emotive vocal delivery, creating a dynamic synergy that elevates the song’s emotional depth.

BNXN, who first burst onto the scene in 2019 with his Zlatan-assisted single Spiritual, has since become a huge force in Afrobeats, amassing over 2.1 billion career streams and collaborating with international stars like Wizkid, Burna Boy, and Dave. His 2023 debut album, Sincerely, Benson, solidified his place as one of Nigeria’s most innovative artists, blending raw emotion with infectious grooves in hits like Finesse and GWAGWALADA. The release of Very Soon further cements his reputation, offering a glimpse into the sonic and thematic evolution fans can expect from CAPTAIN. The 16-track album, which BNXN has teased as a reflection of his journey to becoming a leader in the music industry, promises to showcase his growth both as an artist and a storyteller.

FOLA’s feature on Very Soon adds a fresh layer of excitement to the release. The young artist, who has been making waves in the Nigerian music scene since his 2024 hit Alone, brings a complementary energy to the track, his soulful voice harmonizing beautifully with BNXN’s. Their previous collaboration on the Alone remix, which garnered significant acclaim, hinted at their musical chemistry, and Very Soon delivers on that promise, offering a track that’s both heartfelt and sonically captivating. Fans have already taken to social media to express their excitement, with early reactions praising the song’s emotional resonance and its potential to become a fan favourite from the upcoming album.

The release of Very Soon comes at a pivotal moment for BNXN, who has spent 2025 building anticipation for CAPTAIN through a series of strategic singles and high-profile performances. His recent collaboration with Ruger on the RnB EP, which amassed over 256 million streams, further showcased his versatility, while his appearances at global events have solidified his status as a leading voice in Afrobeats’ global expansion. With CAPTAIN set to drop on July 3, 2025, BNXN is poised to elevate his career to new heights, and Very Soon serves as a powerful precursor, blending raw emotion with the infectious melodies that have become his trademark.
