Kanika Kapoor Unites India and Africa on “Chaap Tilak” — A Soulful Cross-Cultural Collaboration with Nigeria’s Lade and Alpha P

Legendary Indian pop icon Kanika Kapoor makes a triumphant return with Chaap Tilak, a genre-blending masterpiece featuring Nigeria’s vocal enchantress Lade and Afropop’s silky-voiced rising star Alpha P. The track is a spiritual invocation of love—delivered through three distinct voices, united by one shared emotion: devotion.

Rooted in the timeless poetry of Amir Khusro, Chaap Tilak reimagines a classic through a contemporary, global lens. Kanika Kapoor—celebrated for her sultry vocals and fearless sonic reinventions—leads the performance with a rendition steeped in longing and reverence. Lade’s honeyed voice drifts effortlessly through the verses, while Alpha P delivers a textured, emotionally charged performance that speaks to a new generation unafraid to express romantic vulnerability.

“This song is my offering to the power of love,” says Kapoor. “It’s a celebration of tradition, transformation, and the universal desire to be loved in return.”

The production is a delicate dance between Indian classical motifs and Afro-fusion rhythms—a bold fusion of tabla and 808s, harmonium and hi-hats—designed to lure the listener into complete emotional surrender.

With Chaap Tilak, Kapoor builds a bridge across cultures, crafting a shared language of longing that transcends borders. It’s a love letter to heritage and innovation alike. Beyond her musical achievements, Kanika Kapoor continues to redefine what it means to be a global artist. As the founder of her own label, Bajao, and a fashion icon, entrepreneur, and devoted mother, she remains a trailblazer across industries. Chaap Tilak marks yet another bold chapter in her dynamic journey—fusing Afrobeats, Indian classical, and contemporary pop to create a truly borderless sound.
