Blaqbonez & Kizz Daniel Reunite on Soulful Summer Single “Follow Her”

Lagos-born rapper and singer Blaqbonez has teamed up once again with Nigerian hitmaker Kizz Daniel on a new single titled Follow Her. First conceived during their early attempts to collaborate in 2022, the track is as much a celebration of their genuine friendship as it is a genre-bending anthem designed for the summer months. Produced by Ramoni—best known for Black Sherif and Blaqbonez’s Road Runners—the record blends soul, swagger, and sonic familiarity, marking their second official link-up after One Dollar.

Though his parents once disapproved of his music career, Akumefule Chukwuemeka George—known professionally as Blaqbonez—completed a degree in Computer Engineering before diving headfirst into music. From his roots in Nigeria’s underground battle rap scene to becoming one of its most versatile exports, Blaq’s rise has been powered by genre-defying creativity, sharp wit, and a magnetic persona. Whether rapping, singing, or delivering viral skits, he has carved a lane with his fusion of Afrobeats, Hip-Hop, Drill, R&B, and Alté.

Breakout hits like Like Ice Spice and No Sleep $$$ featuring Young Jonn, both from his critically acclaimed Emeka Must Shine, earned him the 2023 Headie Award for Best Rap Album. Since then, he’s collaborated with a global roster including Ludacris, Odumodublvck, Black Sherif, Victony, Amaarae, CKay, and JAE5.

Now entering what he calls his Super Saiyan era, Blaqbonez is gearing up for his most ambitious chapter yet. His forthcoming project No Excuses promises deeply personal storytelling, high-energy bangers, and everything in between. With a global rollout planned around fashion weeks in London and Paris this summer, No Excuses could be a catalytic moment for the Choc City signee.
