Small Doctors releases new single 'BAHUBALI'

Nigerian street-hop artist Small Doctor, born Adekunle Temitope, has made a fiery return to the music scene with his latest single BAHUBALI, released via OIT Dynasty. The track, produced by the prolific 2T Upondeebeatz, was announced by Small Doctor on X, where he teased the release with the phrase “Agege Ni Bread Ti Beere… New Music At MIDNIGHT #BAHUBALI.” The new single marks Small Doctor’s first official release of 2025, following his 2024 track Bigi Man, and serves as a bold reassertion of his place as the “Street Ambassador” in Nigeria’s vibrant music scene.

BAHUBALI is a high-energy street anthem that draws its name from the iconic Indian film franchise Baahubali, known for its epic storytelling and larger-than-life themes—a fitting metaphor for Small Doctor’s commanding presence in the industry. Sonically, it follows a similar pattern to Seyi Vibez’s hit track, SHAOLIN. The song, produced by 2T Upondeebeatz, who has a history of crafting hits for Small Doctor, including Penalty (2017) and This Year (2017), features a pulsating beat with heavy percussion, layered with the producer’s signature “alujo” (danceable) rhythm. Small Doctor’s delivery is as raw and charismatic as ever, blending Yoruba street slang with Pidgin English to create a track that resonates deeply with his core audience.

Thematically, BAHUBALI aligns with Small Doctor’s brand of music that celebrates resilience, street culture, and communal joy. Known for anthems like Set Awon and Account Balance, both produced by 2T, Small Doctor continues to channel the spirit of the streets, delivering a song that’s likely packed with viral slang and motivational undertones.

Small Doctor’s history with 2T Upondeebeatz is a proven formula for success, with their past collaborations consistently dominating airwaves and street playlists. BAHUBALI appears to follow this tradition. The release comes at a time when Nigeria’s music scene is buzzing with new drops from artists like Davido, Wizkid, and Shallipopi, yet Small Doctor’s unique ability to connect with the grassroots ensures BAHUBALI stands out as a street anthem in a sea of Afrobeats hits. As Small Doctor continues to build on his legacy, this single sets the stage for what could be a major project later in 2025, further solidifying his reign as one of Nigeria’s most beloved street-hop artists.
