Rema Unleashes Afro-R&B Gem “Bout U” Ahead of Coachella Debut

Rema returns with his latest single, Bout U, co-produced by himself and London, marking another evolution in his ever-expanding sonic world. Seamlessly blending Afrobeats and R&B, Bout U is a sun-drenched tale of infatuation, capturing an intoxicating connection that leaves him in the clouds. In true Rema fashion, the genre-fluid track weaves silky melodic riffs with shimmering electric guitar, creating an atmosphere that feels both intimate and limitless. As he repeats, “hold my hand, girl, time is running out,” the tension builds, rising with every beat. This weekend, the song makes its live debut as Rema takes the stage at Coachella for the first time. Emerging from the sounds he unearthed on his Grammy-nominated album, HEIS, and following the bold strides of Baby (Is It A Crime), Rema dives deeper into his freedom era, where boundaries blur and expectations fall away. Always in motion, he challenges himself, reshaping his sound with each release.

Rema kicked off the year with undeniable force. Baby (Is It A Crime) racked up an impressive 43 million streams across platforms, setting the tone for an unstoppable and intentional run. Soon after, he landed the cover of Dazed & Confused, a striking visual moment captured by Gabriel Moses and styled by the visionary Ib Kamara. Stateside, the momentum only built. Last month, Rema became the first Afrobeats artist to feature on the cover of Rolling Stone US, cementing his global presence. He also debuted at SXSW, where his performance was hailed as one of the festival’s standouts. With his sights set on some of the world’s most iconic stages this year, Rema is poised for another historic run of live shows. He returns to London’s O2 Arena for a second headline show on June 6th, and just weeks before, he’ll step onto the legendary stage at Madison Square Garden on May 3rd, a testament to his global reach and undeniable rise.
