Kwate Enlists Portable, Magnito On “Shout Out to My Ex” EP

Nigerian-born and U.S.-based Afrobeats artist Kwate (David Cross Idukomose) has made a return with his latest project, Shout Out to My Ex. Known for his masterful blend of Afro rhythms, hip hop, and dancehall, Kwate delivers an EP that’s as fiery as it is heartfelt, taking listeners on an emotional and energetic journey.

The EP explores themes of resilience, and empowerment through tracks like Igho, Green Card, Shout Out to My Ex, and Sarah. For Kwate, the concept of “ex” goes beyond romantic relationships—it represents shedding the negativity that holds you back. “This EP is my victory anthem,” Kwate explains. “It’s about walking away from struggles like poverty, envy, and toxic influences to embrace a better, freer version of yourself.”

Kwate first captured attention with breakout hits like Party Dey Here and Baby Give Me More, and he has continued to gain recognition. His latest offering featuring collaborations with Portable, Magnito, and Blaq Jerzee, the EP promises to captivate audiences with its dynamic creativity and rich sonic diversity.

With performances spanning over 100 countries and accolades such as a nomination for the prestigious Mnet Asian Music Awards (MAMA), Kwate has cemented his place as an international Afrobeat sensation. His music transcends borders, combining rhythms with deeply relatable storytelling.

In addition to the EP release, Kwate is gearing up for a highly anticipated U.S. tour, where fans will get to experience his electrifying performances firsthand.
