Nigerian singer-songwriter Iyanya ends 2024 on a high note with the release of his new EP, 888 (Abundance, Success, and Achievement).

The project serves as a celebration of resilience, prosperity, and artistry. The title 888 reflects themes of positivity, aligning with the numerological symbolism of abundance, success, and personal achievement, making the EP a fitting conclusion to the year.

The five-track body of work includes the already released Shagara, a collaborative tune with Tekno which seamlessly blends Afrobeats rhythms with catchy melodies.

Iyanya enlists an array of talented artists on the EP, enriching its sound and appeal. The contributions of Teni bring a playful yet soulful touch, while Makhadzi injects her unique energy, blending elements of Afro-pop with South African influences. Nkosazana Daughter, renowned for her emotive vocal delivery, adds depth to the project, ensuring a blend of dynamic and heartfelt moments throughout the EP.

The production on 888 reflects a deliberate effort to showcase Iyanya’s versatility, with beats ranging from danceable Afrobeats grooves to slower, more introspective melodies. This variety ensures the EP appeals to a diverse audience while retaining Iyanya’s signature sound, smooth, polished, and African.
