Mayorkun is back with another enjoyable tune titled Innocent, this time enlisting the talents of YBNL’s Fireboy DML to create a song that resonates with emotion and sincerity. Produced by the talented Speroach Beatz, Innocent is a soothing and melodious tune that captures the universal theme of loyalty and devotion, as both artists reassure their love interests of their commitment.

The song revolves around the refrain, “Girl I just want to stand, stand by you, I just wanna stand by you, I don’t understand why you think say I no go stand by you,” echoing a deep commitment to standing by someone through thick and thin. Mayorkun and Fireboy’s voices blend harmoniously, each bringing their unique style to make a song that feels intimate and universally relatable.

Mayorkun’s smooth, rhythmic delivery brings a sense of warmth and honesty, while Fireboy’s soulful touch adds an extra layer of depth, drawing listeners into the story of two people committed to staying together despite doubts and misunderstandings. Fireboy’s distinct vocal range and emotional delivery perfectly complement Mayorkun’s playful yet genuine tone, creating a dynamic collaboration that showcases the best of both artists.

Speroach Beatz’s production is top-notch, weaving in soft percussion and layered instrumentals that enhance the song’s gentle vibe. The Afrobeats-inspired rhythm is subtly infectious, making Innocent a song that’s as enjoyable on the dancefloor as it is in a more reflective moment. The song’s structure and pacing give both singers room to shine, with each verse and chorus building on the next to create a rich, emotive experience.
